3-year-old girl fatally run over by tractor in Yakima County

MABTON, WA (YAKIMA COUNTY) – A 3-year-old girl was killed after being run over by a farm tractor in Yakima County yesterday afternoon, according to KOMO News.

The incident occurred in a field near the 6400 block of Sunnyside-Mabton Highway, north of the Yakima River, in northern Mabton, at about 3:30 p.m.

A man was operating a tractor while his child was riding in a front-end loader bucket. The child fell out of the vehicle, and one of the tractor wheels went over her.

The girl died as a result.

Authorities, who described the incident as a tragic accident, do not believe intoxicated driving played a role in the accident. They continue to investigate the collision at this time.
