Possible drowning in Skykomish River near Eagle Falls

EAGLE FALLS, WA – Rescue crews were called to the Skykomish River about 3 miles north of Baring on Wednesday, after a man jumped into the river and did not resurface.

According to KOMO News, the man—who has not been identified—jumped into the river Wednesday evening, just off Highway 2.

Rescue crews were unable to locate the man.

This possible drowning comes just a couple of weeks after officials warned river-goers of the possible dangers of the cold water. Authorities continue recommending that swimmers wear life jackets because the cold water can make people go into shock.
