Seattle Fire Dept searches for man, presumed drowned, in Lake Washington

SEATTLE, WA – One man is presumed drowned after jumping into Lake Washington on Tuesday morning. Seattle Fire responded to the area to conduct a rescue operation.

Water rescue response near the 14300 Blk. of Riviera Pl. NE for report of adult male who jumped in water from private boat and did not resurface. Rescue swimmers, Fireboat and police boats responding.

According to KOMO News, authorities arrived at the scene near the 14300 block of Riviera Place NE just after 11 a.m. Tuesday. Witnesses said they saw the man jump off a boat into the water but did not see him resurface.

Rescue crews searched the water where the man was last seen and the shoreline in that area but could not locate him. After an hour of searching, the rescue mission pivoted to a recovery operation.

Seattle Harbor Patrol is leading the recovery operation.
