Driver airlifted after serious collision near Shelton

SHELTON, WA – Washington State Patrol is investigating a two-car collision on State Route 3 near Agate Rd that resulted in one driver being airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries.

#MasonCounty: SR 3 at Agate Road (NE of #Shelton) is fully blocked due to a 2-car, injury collision. #WSP troopers, fire and aid are on scene tending to those involved. We appreciate your patience during the investigation. If you can, please avoid the area/use alternate routes.

WSP Trooper Chelsea Hodgson reported that the accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. Two vehicles were involved in the crash and SR 3 was completely closed while Troopers investigated.

The road reopened around 5 p.m. Saturday. There has not been an update on the driver’s condition or what caused the accident.
