One person dead in single-vehicle crash in Tacoma

The accident happened on S 96th Street, near S Steele Street, at about 7:30 a.m., when a single vehicle crashed. All five lanes of the roadway were strewn with debris from the accident when authorities arrived.
One person, whose identity was not revealed, died at the scene.
Authorities closed part of 96th Street for the investigation.
