Crash on I-405 near Coal Creek Pkwy causes backup in Bellevue

BELLEVUE, WA – A collision on southbound I-405 just south of Coal Creek Parkway blocked all southbound lanes of the highway Thursday afternoon, causing a significant backup.

All lanes of southbound I-405 are blocked at Coal Creek Parkway in #Bellevue. Traffic is exiting at Coal Creek where drivers can get right back on SB I-5 but this will really back up traffic. Avoid this route for now. pic.twitter.com/MJImgVkO8n

According to a tweet from the Washington State Department of Transportation, the accident happened around 1 p.m. It is unclear what caused the accident, but footage from the scene shows a significant first responder presence. WSDOT did not report any injuries.
