Sounder train strikes, kills pedestrian in Edmonds

EDMONDS, WA – A pedestrian was struck by a northbound Sounder train late yesterday afternoon, killing the pedestrian and causing substantial delays for commuters.

My Edmonds News reports that the incident happened at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, near a dog park just south of the Edmonds station. Police believe the unidentified pedestrian may have deliberately stepped onto the tracks, although that cannot be independently confirmed at this time.

The incident caused service delays and canceled all departures to Seattle.
