The collision occurred at about 5 a.m. today on SR-99 north of Porter Way — near where Pierce and King Counties meet. Utility crews were on the scene not long after, and worked to remove power lines from the roadway. They were able to reopen a single lane by 6:54 a.m., though it is unclear if they have opened the rest of the highway since then.
The driver responsible for the single-vehicle collision was treated at the scene and then arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
