53-year-old pedestrian killed by car in Lake City area

SEATTLE, WA – A 53-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a street in the Lake City section of Seattle on Monday night.

According to KIRO 7 News Seattle, the pedestrian was crossing Lake City Way in the 13300 block when the accident happened. A driver was traveling north when she struck the pedestrian, who was not in a marked crosswalk.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. She died the following day.

The driver stopped and remained at the scene, cooperating with authorities. Alcohol did not factor in the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
