Accident closes 4 blocks of River Road in Puyallup

PUYALLUP, WA – A car collided with a utility pole on River Road at 9th Street NW late yesterday morning, bringing down power lines and forcing the closure of all lanes in both directions.

KOMO News reports that emergency responders arrived on the scene at 11:45 a.m. to find that the utility pole snapped at its base, leaving power lines dangling over the roadway. They closed River Rd. from 7th Street to 9th St so crews could safely respond to the incident.

It is unclear whether anyone was injured at this time. We will update this blog if we learn more.
