Two people seriously hurt in suspected DUI crash in Bothell

BOTHELL, WA — Two people were reported seriously injured on Wednesday along I-405 in a suspected DUI collision involving a state Department of Transportation truck, according to KOMO News.

The DOT truck was at the site of an earlier collision when the suspected DUI driver crashed into it.

Troopers and medics responded to the scene around 10 a.m., arriving in the northbound lanes of I-405 a little south of State Route 527.

The driver at fault and the DOT driver are both in serious condition and being treated at Harborview Medical Center. Officials noted that the DOT driver has previously been injured in a work zone crash.

The WSP said the at-fault driver will be arrested and investigated for DUI upon release from the hospital.
