Woman struck by car, hit-and-run over by another in South Seattle
Request Free ConsultationSEATTLE, WA — A female pedestrian was struck by one car and then run over by a fleeing SUV Sunday night in South Seattle, according to KIRO 7 News.
The incident took place at Martin Luther King Jr. Way and South Edmunds Street where the woman had just gotten off a light rail train. She was attempting to cross a marked crosswalk when a northbound Toyota Prius struck her. By the Prius driver’s account to police, the light was green.
While the victim was lying in the street, a Cadillac Escalade ran her over and fled the scene before authorities arrived.
The Prius driver stayed at the scene to attend to the victim. A preliminary breath test administered by officers showed no impairment.
The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center for immediate surgery. Her condition is currently undisclosed.
