Seattle man killed in US-12 motorcycle crash in Randle
Request Free ConsultationRANDLE, WA — A Seattle man was killed Friday afternoon when his motorcycle crashed into another vehicle along US Highway 12 in Randle, according to The Chronicle.
The 67-year-old motorcyclist was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle behind a Nissan Pathfinder traveling eastbound near Young Road at around 3:45 p.m.
As the 27-year-old driver of the Nissan Pathfinder slowed down to make a left turn, the motorcyclist rear-ended the vehicle. Both the rider and the motorcycle came to a stop in the eastbound lane.
The rider was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was reported to have not been wearing a US Department of Transportation-approved helmet when the crash occurred.
The Pathfinder driver, a resident of Lakewood, was not injured.
The accident’s cause was reported by the state patrol to be improper passing.
