MOSES LAKE, WA — A single-vehicle van crash Monday afternoon caused a brush fire along Interstate 90 eastbound near Moses Lake, according to News Radio 560KPQ.

The initial car accident occurred near the Hiawatha Road Northeast exit around 4:00 p.m.

Washington State Patrol said a minivan driven by a 27-year-old Bremerton man was traveling eastbound along I-90 when it went off to the right of the roadway near Hiawatha, rammed through the Frontage Road fence and made its way back to I-90, coming to a stop on the right  shoulder. The vehicle then caught on fire, spreading to nearby brush.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire after an hour. I-90 eastbound shut down for about fifteen minutes because of the incident.

No injuries to the driver or his passenger, a 28-year-old Seattle woman, were reported.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
