Major truck collision on SR-18 causes injuries, delays in Federal Way
Request Free ConsultationFEDERAL WAY, WA — A crash between a semi-truck and a pick-up truck Tuesday afternoon resulted in injuries and a traffic backup on state Route 18 in Federal Way, according to KIRO 7 News.
The incident occurred on a stretch of SR-18 near the exit to Interstate 5 at around 1:30 p.m.
Both trucks were engulfed in flames as a result of the collision, with explosions heard ringing out as the fire progressed.
All occupants were reported to have been safely removed or vacated from the vehicles. Non-life-threatening injuries were said to have been sustained, but no other information was shared confirming the number of people injured.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire by 2:30 p.m.
Lanes in both directions were closed as authorities responded to the scene. At 3:45 p.m., westbound lanes were reopened, followed by eastbound lanes at around 4:00 p.m.
No other information has been reported about the cause of crash.
