One killed in motorcycle crash on I-5 in Tacoma

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — One person died Thursday night in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on Interstate 5 in Tacoma, according to Q13 Fox.

Washington State Patrol said the crash took place on the I-5 offramp to state Route 7 shortly before 9:00 p.m.

An early investigation found that the motorcycle struck a barrier, killing the rider at the scene.

The stretch of I-5 to SR-7 was closed in both directions as a result of the accident. I-705 to the SR-7 extension was likewise blocked to accommodate an investigation.

Motorists in the area were advised to find alternate routes.

At 11:36 p.m., Trooper Robert Reyer reported all previously closed roads were reopened.
