One trapped after car crashes over embankment in Port Orchard
Request Free ConsultationKITSAP COUNTY, WA — One person was trapped Wednesday evening after a single-vehicle crash that caused the car to travel over an embankment and into a lake in Port Orchard., according to KOMO News.
Crews with South Kitsap Fire and Rescue responded to the incident near the intersection of Phillips Road Southeast and Southeast Emelia Lane at around 5:00 p.m.
It was not immediate clear what led up to the crash, but crews worked to stabilize the vehicle before performing an extended extrication to rescue one person who was trapped inside.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m., SK Fire and Rescue reported the passenger had been safely removed from the vehicle and was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Patient has been extricated and transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. @KitsapCoSheriff is remaining on-scene.

The road was closed for the duration of the rescue. No further updates or information have been disclosed at this time on the cause of the crash.
