Speeding driver fatally hits pedestrian in Seattle’s Wallingford area
Request Free ConsultationSEATTLE, WA — A 55-year-old man died late Thursday after being struck by a speeding driver in the Wallingford neighborhood of north Seattle, according to Seattle Police Department.
The incident occurred near North 46th Street and Aurora Avenue North shortly before midnight.
Police responded to the scene after receiving several calls about a pedestrian found laying in the roadway and a pickup truck speeding northbound on Aurora Avenue North.
Shortly after Seattle Fire crews arrived, the victim was pronounced deceased.
Police officers pursued the truck driver as he fled the scene and failed to yield in a traffic stop. He was later taken into custody near an Interstate 5 southbound exit in Federal Way.
Authorities said the man was to be processed for DUI before being booked into King County Jail for vehicular homicide.
