Train fatally strikes man standing on BNSF Railway tracks in Kent
Request Free ConsultationKING COUNTY, WA — A 65-year-old man was killed Wednesday evening when he was hit by a train while standing on railway tracks in Kent, reports Kent Reporter.
The fatal incident occurred on the 700 block of 1st Avenue North and was reported shortly before 8:10 p.m.
Kent police officers and Puget Sound Fire crews arrived on the scene to find the victim non-responsive. The first responders administered life-saving measures, but was unable to revive him.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the investigation, authorities located footage that shows the man continuing to stand before the oncoming train even as its horn can be heard sounding. The train was traveling at 20 miles per hour at the time and stopped after the collision.
No further information has been released on the circumstances around the incident.
