One hospitalized after multi-car accident on SR-99 near South Park
Request Free ConsultationSEATTLE, WA — One person was injured Friday morning in a crash involving five vehicles on State Route 99 near Seattle’s South Park area, reports FOX 13 News.
Fire crews responded to the scene in the northbound lanes of the highway near the 1st Avenue South Bridge at around 4:30 a.m.
It was unclear what led up to the accident, but authorities said firefighters had to perform a rescue extrication for one person trapped in a vehicle. Upon their removal from the vehicle, the victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
No other significant injuries were reported, but according to fire officials, as many as seven people were evaluated at the scene.
A heavy traffic backup had built up after the crash, but the scene was reported cleared shortly after 6:00 a.m.
