The crash happened in Spanaway on southbound SR-7 near 160th Street S at around 8:18 p.m., after a pedestrian reportedly stepped in front of a driver, who was unable to stop in time to avoid them.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead after the crash.
Southbound lanes of traffic were diverted onto 159th Street S as authorities investigated the accident.
