Spokane, Washington – Man Dies from Head Injuries After Falling From Motorcycle

Spokane, Washington (August 25, 2019) – A motorcyclist died of his head injuries following a fall from his vehicle. According to the report from the Spokane County Medical Examiner, the victim was identified as Garth Mortimer, and he died of head trauma, including a skull fracture.

The incident happened on Sunday evening, with deputies responding to the scene at the 6900 block of North Wall Street around 6:40 p.m. According to witnesses, Mortimer was driving north on the road when he attempted to stand on his motorcycle seat, which caused him to fall off the vehicle. Mortimer was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but it was not properly fastened. Mortimer was transported to a hospital following the crash, but died shortly after.
