Federal Way, Washington – One Person Sustains Minor Injuries in Hit-and-Run Collision on Interstate 5

Federal Way, Washington (November 22, 2019) – A woman sustained minor injuries after a truck collided with her car on southbound Interstate 5 on Friday night. The victim, Stephanie Killpatrick sustained bruises to her arms and abdomen in addition to a black eye after the airbags of her car activated. The semi truck which caused the collision continued driving and was followed by a witness, but unfortunately was lost near Fife.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. near Wild Waves Theme & Water Park. According to the victim the truck hit the left rear side of her car, causing her vehicle to spin. The crash also totaled the victim’s vehicle. Killpatrick was unable to see the vehicle which caused the collision, but a witness reported that it was a green Freightliner semi truck without a trailer. Anyone with information on the accident is asked to contact the Washington State Patrol.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
