Box truck overturns on NB I-5 in Southcenter, affecting traffic

TUKWILA, WA – A box truck overturned on northbound I-5 south of I-405 this morning, bringing rush hour traffic to a near standstill in the area.

The Washington State Department of Transportation first reported the incident at 6 a.m. The collision blocked the the left three northbound lanes for several hours, and traffic was stop-and-go in the area for several hours. Most of the lanes were reopened by 7:26 a.m., but footage from a traffic camera at I-5 and Klickitat Drive showed traffic in the area was still proceeding at a crawl.

It is unclear at this time whether anyone was injured in the incident. We will update this blog if we find out that information.
