Elma, Washington – Woman Hospitalized After Crashing Her Vehicle on Highway 12

Elma, Washington (October 23, 2019) – A woman sustained injuries after crashing her vehicle on Highway 12 near Porter on Wednesday morning. She was taken to Summit Pacific Medical Center for treatment. There has been no word given regarding her condition.

According to the report from the Washington State Patrol, the woman was driving on the highway when she fell asleep at the wheel. This caused her vehicle to leave the roadway and crash into a ditch. The victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. She has been cited for 2nd Degree negligent driving.

In rollover collisions, the car will come to rest on its side or roof, resulting in a dangerous situation which passengers might need to be extricated from. In side collisions, the greatest risk comes to the passenger on the particular side that received the impact. No matter the type of accident, all crashes are bound to cause a dreadful situation for all involved.
