Hit-and-run driver injures 2 on I-5 in Fife
Request Free ConsultationFIFE, WA – Two men were seriously injured Saturday when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver as they stood next to their broken-down vehicle. The Washington State Patrol is now searching for the person responsible.
The incident took place on southbound I-5 near 54th Avenue East at about 4:02 a.m. on Saturday, May 8. A gray Lexus sedan struck a guardrail and came to a stop in the right-hand lane. Its two occupants stepped out of the vehicle and were standing in the right shoulder when a second southbound vehicle approached them. Its driver swerved in an attempt to avoid the Lexus, striking and seriously injuring the two men instead.
The vehicle left the scene without stopping. Police believe it is a dark-colored sedan with noticeable front-end damage, probably to its bumper and/or fender. Anyone with any knowledge of the accident should contact WSP as soon as possible.
