Major collision blocks all SB lanes of I-405 at SR 169 in Renton

RENTON, WA – A major accident on southbound Interstate 405 at State Route 169 blocked all southbound lanes on Thursday morning and called for a large first responder presence.

The Washington State Department of Transportation reported the accident at 7:30 a.m. via Twitter. Southbound traffic squeezed through using the HOV lane, but a three-mile backup developed.

It is not clear whether anyone involved in the accident sustained serious injuries.
