Man fatally struck by suspected DUI driver on S Meridian in Puyallup
Request Free ConsultationPIERCE COUNTY, WA — A 59-year-old man was killed early Sunday in a pedestrian accident involving a suspected DUI driver near Puyallup’s South Hill Mall, reports KOMO News.
Puyallup Police said the crash happened in the 3400 block of South Meridian at around 3:00 a.m.
According to authorities, a 24-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a silver passenger car when the vehicle ran off the roadway and fatally struck the male pedestrian.
The victim died from his injuries.
Officers suspected the driver of impairment and arrested her. She was booked into the Pierce County Jail pending an investigation into vehicular homicide.
An investigation by the METRO Cities Major Collision Response Team was underway.
