One killed, one injured in two-vehicle crash on I-5 near Mount Vernon
Request Free ConsultationSKAGIT COUNTY, WA — One person died Tuesday evening in a two-car collision that also injured another on Interstate 5 near Mount Vernon, according to Trooper Rocky Oliphant with Washington State Patrol.
We’re on scene of a one vehicle collision south on I-5 in Mount Vernon (mile post 232) unfortunately this is a fatality. We have both north and south I-5 shut down and expect intermittent closures during this investigation.

The accident took place in the southbound lanes of I-5 at milepost 232 between Burlington and Mount Vernon. It was first reported by WSP at 6:50 p.m.
No details have been reported on the circumstances leading up to the crash, but one person was killed and the driver in a second vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Interstate 5 was shut down in both directions as state troopers investigated the incident.
