Spokane high school teacher dies after being struck by car
Request Free ConsultationSPOKANE, WA – An 83-year-old Spokane high school teacher died last Friday of injuries sustained when she was struck by a vehicle on July 17.
According to KHQ News, Stephanie Schrimshire was walking near 25th Ave and Southeast Boulevard when she was struck by a passing vehicle. Investigators are not sure whether she was on the sidewalk or in the street when the accident occurred. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Schrimshire was a teacher at North Central High School in Spokane.
Schrimshire’s cause of death was reported as “Massive hemothoraces; due to laceration of heart; due to blunt impact to chest” according to the medical examiner.
The driver is not expected to be charged.
