Request Free ConsultationTACOMA, WA – Students were evacuated from Lowell Elementary School yesterday after smoke was reported in one of the classrooms, KOMO reports.
Fire crews were called to the school, located at 810 N 13th Street, at about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Staff and students were already outside the building by the time they arrived.
Firefighters searched the school and noticed an electrical smell as well as light smoke in two classrooms. They called for backup, and conducted a thorough search of the premises. However, they could not find anything wrong with the electrical system, and issued the all-clear by 2:17 p.m. They instructed staff to continue monitoring the situation.
No one appears to have been hurt. We will update this blog if that information changes.
