Truck driver pinned after brakes fail on SR-18 in Auburn

AUBURN, WA – One person was pinned after a tractor-trailer-involved rollover accident on Highway 18 in Auburn on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Fox News Seattle, the truck was eastbound when it struck multiple other vehicles on Highway 18 near West Valley Highway South. The truck then rolled down the hillside along the highway and into a small body of water.

Firefighters extricated one person that was trapped upside in the tractor-trailer cab. At least four people were treated for injuries. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

One righthand lane on eastbound Highway 18 was blocked as well as the offramp to West Valley Hwy S.

An initial investigation suggested that the truck’s brake failure caused the accident.
