Update: Woman run over by Yakima County Sheriff’s vehicle identified

YAKIMA COUNTY, WA – The woman who was run over and killed by an officer driving a Yakima County Sheriff’s vehicle has been identified as 44-year-old Jamie L. Jackson.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. on Halloween night at the intersection of Fort Road at Becker Road. Jackson, a Toppenish resident, was taken to Astria Toppenish Hospital, where she died.

According to YakTriNews, there was evidence that Jackson may have been run over by another car before being hit by the officer’s car. Jackson had been lying in the road.
