Woman hospitalized after Chelan apartment fire

CHELAN, WA — A woman was airlifted to a hospital Friday night following an apartment fire in Chelan, according to iFIBER One News.

Crews with Chelan Fire and Rescue responded to a call about a structure fire at an apartment complex on East Gibson Avenue, where heavy smoke was seen wafting out from the front of a lower level apartment.

Crews were able to put out the fire and rescue and unconscious woman from the affected apartment unit.

The woman was initially transported to Lake Chelan Hospital but has since been transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The extent of her injuries are currently undisclosed.

The fire was reported to have been contained to one unit, which sustained significant heat and smoke damage.

An investigation into the cause of fire is underway.
