Woman killed, 2 injured after man allegedly speeds through red light in Puyallup
Request Free ConsultationPUYALLUP, WA – A woman was killed, and two people were injured after a driver allegedly ran a traffic light in Puyallup last night, according to KOMO News.
The accident happened on 72nd Street E and Woodland Avenue E at about 6 p.m., as a driver was allegedly going at a high rate of speed, up to about 100 mph. He reportedly sped through a traffic light, then collided with an SUV.
Authorities pronounced the driver of the SUV, a 63-year-old woman, dead at the scene.
The 47-year-old man operating the other vehicle and his passenger were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The identities of the victims were not immediately available.
Authorities are investigating the case and are looking into if the at-fault driver may have been under the influence.
The roadway was closed as authorities worked the case, and drivers were asked to avoid the area near the crash.
