Woman killed after Yakima County Sheriff’s vehicle runs her over

TOPPENISH, WA – A woman died Saturday night after being run over by a Yakima County Sheriff’s vehicle while lying in the street at the intersection of Fort Road and Becker Road.

According to KOMO News, first responders arrived at the scene at around 10 p.m. The unidentified woman was transported to Astria Toppenish Hospital, where she later died.

The 36-year-old driver of the Yakima County Sheriff’s SUV stayed on the scene and did not show signs of impairment. Officials are still investigating.
